Upload a song or video and get the instrumental and the vocals as separate tracks. Full songs, free, no sign-up.
Tap the button and pick an MP3, WAV or M4A song, or an MP4 or MOV video. On a phone you can choose a song from your files or a video from your photos. The voice remover works best on a good copy of the song: a file you bought or downloaded from the artist separates more cleanly than a recording of a recording.
You see each step as it happens: uploading, waiting in line, separating. Most songs are done in about half a minute, so you can stay on the page and listen as soon as it finishes.
Play the instrumental and the vocals right on the page and compare them with the original. If the instrumental sounds right, download it as an MP3; the vocals are a separate download. If a little of the voice is left, try another version of the song, such as the studio album track instead of a live one, and remove the vocals again (that counts as another song).
When you remove vocals from a song here, you get two files back. The instrumental is the song with the singing taken out: the band, the beat and everything else stay where they were. The vocals file is the singing on its own, which is handy for checking lyrics, timing and phrasing. Both play on the page, so you can listen before you download anything.
The downloads are named after your file, for example "my song (instrumental).mp3", so they are easy to find later on your phone or computer.
Free means the full song, start to finish, with no watermark and no sign-up. Up to 3 songs a day.
Use it right in your phone's browser: choose a file, listen, download. No app to install.
A progress bar shows where your song is, so you're never staring at a blank screen.
Upload a video and you get two audio files back: the music without the singing, and the singing on its own.
Older vocal removers cancelled out whatever sat in the middle of a stereo mix. That took the voice out, but often the kick and other centre-panned parts with it, and left a hollow, phasey sound. An AI vocal remover works differently: it has learned what a singing voice sounds like, listens to the whole song and separates the voice from everything else.
That is why the instrumental keeps more of its full sound, and why mono recordings, where the old trick had nothing to cancel, can still be separated. The result still depends on the recording, as the tips below explain.
The voice remover also takes video. Pick an MP4 or MOV, and your browser takes the sound out of it first, so only the audio is uploaded, not the whole video. You get the same two files as for a song: the music without the singing, and the singing on its own.
That helps when the only copy of a song you have is a video, like a recital you filmed or a rehearsal clip. Remove the vocals, then use the instrumental to practise, perform or record your own version.
Sing along to music taken from the original recording, then check your own take against the original vocals.
Make an instrumental for a school show, a recital or a rehearsal from the version of the song you actually know.
Record your cover over music from the original recording instead of a karaoke version that sounds nothing like it.
Thirty seconds of the same song: the original, then the instrumental and the vocals we got from it.
Start from the best file you have. A full-quality copy of the studio version gives the voice remover the most to work with. A song recorded off a speaker, or saved again and again at low quality, carries noise that ends up in both tracks.
Pick the version with the least echo on the voice. Heavy reverb on a vocal is the hardest part to remove, so a plain studio mix usually beats a remix or a live recording.
Expect the harmonies to go with the lead. Backing vocals count as singing, so they leave the instrumental together with the main vocal. If your song has a choir part you want to keep, it will be taken out too.
Listen before you download. If you can still hear the voice, try a different release of the same song and remove the vocals again; that often makes more difference than anything else.
